  1. I really didn't like Cigar 1 - hoping it wasn't a RASS as I'm aging several boxes...
  2. In America we have the same debate on taxes, how much, who should pay, etc. It’s tough to see the level of corruption and waste from the government and feel good about giving them move tax dollars to spend, IMO. If they were more competent and I felt better stewards of the capital, it would be a bit of a different story. They (the Govt) does have a good pitch (whether it be more liberal policies or more conservative policies), they promise a better tomorrow and just need a few hundred billion to deliver it; unfortunately they often don’t. Given the above, I will admit, I think it’s absolutely wild how much wealth the tech sector has been able to accrue to a few individuals. They certainly have won capitalism. I don’t get overly worried about them paying more (assuming they are actually paying the appropriate amount). It’s more that I think Facebook (for example) should have had a far broader distribution of wealth to the employees. It’s not uncommon for a Founder to own 50% of their business while the next largest employed shareholder might be an early employee with 0.5%. That’s never quite made sense to me.

  4. Scheffler needs to find a fairway…
  5. Didn’t know if Trinity Robusto would be in the mix.
  6. Cigar 1, PSD4, 10 year Pappy van Winkle.
  7. Are Nudies / Mofo cigars potentially included?
  8. Bavettes is probably 15+ years old and still booked to the gills each and every day. It is a printing press.
  9. This is basically bait for the cigar influencers lurking beneath the surface. If Jazzmin is a member, this will lure him out.
  10. ChatGPT for cigars!
  11. Love a swashbuckler.
  12. Last post was Sept 2020! And I thought my one week ban was long!
  13. If I’m offered 3 boxes of D4 or 1 box of CoRo. I go with the D4. That said, if one to one, CoRo all day long. My best cigar of the last three years was a CoRo and it isn’t even close.
  14. Within the last year. If you don’t like Israeli cuisine skip it. I think it benefits from being good and very unique.
  15. I like my Volvo XC90 and honestly like the way it looks. Not a fancy car, but I’m pleased. I think the Genesis SUVs look good too. Wife had an Audi Q5 that was good (preferred to the BMW X3 that we replaced it with). Next car (aspirational) is Audi RS6 Avant or BMW X5M.
  16. Was down at Zapotal in December. It’s amazing. I’m bullish on Costa Rica.
  17. Biggs allows you to smoke in the shop if you buy a cigar. They also have an outdoor patio. I typically take my own and buy one as my admission.
  18. Chicago!!! Wrigley is awesome, so I'm glad you're going. I would break it down by neighborhood. West Loop: trendiest part of town, high end culinary restaurants and newer, trendier spots. Definitely good people watching and will feel like the most vibrant part of town. Think of it as Chicago's answer to Soho in New York. Girl and the Goat is the most well known restaurant in this neighborhood (but there a loads of good options). Momotaro is my favorite sushi in the city and is in West Loop. At a minimum, spend and afternoon / early evening walking around, popping into bars. Try to get a burger at Au Cheval. River North: I think you can skip it. Used to be what West Loop is now, unfortunately now it doesn't have the same energy that it used to. Worth walking around if you want to see the big building on the Loop. I would recommend doing with River Walk and exploring River North by foot. Gold Coast: (where I live) I think it's the prettiest neighborhood. Plan a walk down Astor St, between Division and North Ave, prettiest brownstones in the city. On the south end of Gold Coast is Viagra Triangle. This is a must visit for a drink and or dinner. Gibsons, Hugo's, Lux Bar, Maple and Ash. A martini at Gibsons is a rite of passage. Small park in the middle of the 'triangle' that you can smoke in. Biggs in just one block west. I would also say get a Guiness at Butch McGuires (a great bar, with good food and a fun late night spot if you're looking for it). Lincoln Park: more of a family neighborhood, but spending some time walking up and down Armitage is worth it. Some great restaurants here too. Boka is super high end and worth it. Summer House Santa Monica is a favorite with women. I would point you towards Riccardo Trattoria for a local only, excellent Italian meal. Gemini Bistro is a great, casual restaurant that's been a staple of Lincoln Park for ages. I agree that you need to get an Italian Beef - I like Mr Beef on Orleans and Superior. You should also think about hitting up an old school Italian grocery for amazing subs. Bari in West Town (not West Loop) of JP Graziano in West Loop (probably easier if you're spending time there). Other great Chicago Staples: - Gene and Georgetti (very close to Bavettes) - Gilt Bar (next to Bavettes and same owner) - Twin Anchors (ribs in Lincoln Park) - La Scarola (old school Italian for dinner) - Monteverde (West Loop, elevated Italian) - Galit (Israeli in Lincoln Park, phenomenal) - Asador Bastian (Spanish steak house in River North, unreal and expensive) - HopLeaf in uptown (north of Wrigley) - Lots of options in China Town (on the south side).
  19. I’m in same camp. My home is usually 70-72 degrees F. I don’t have temperature control on humidor situation. So my cigars are at 62-65 RH and 70-72 F.
  20. Liking that show. It’s basically your neck of the woods…
  21. Rio Seco and Mag 54 are the two largest RG I smoke. I do like a robusto in hand.
