  1. Hi Guys, Will arrive in Havana in a few hours and need some advice on Exclusivo and Limitada Editon cigars. Thinking of purchasing boxes of 10 to increase the variety in current collection. My favs to smoke back home are Partagas Serie D No 4, R7Y Churchills, Vegas Robaina Don Alejandro Padron Anniversary 1964 and 1926. I am also a big Maduro fan but happy to hear the thoughts of what I should get my hands on. Appreciate the advice and look forward to sharing some images of my trip.
  2. Hi Guys, I am heading to Havana this coming Friday, I am looking to purchase 2-4 boxes for personal use to bring back to Australia via the US and then the UK. Can someone tell me what a Fracturas is please? By the sounds of the thread, I will be needing one to cover myself at Customs. Thanks
  3. Not yet, but you know Im onto it
  4. I have set up a Coolidor with a Cigar Oasis Humidifier. Do you guys recommend I store my cigars in original boxes within the Coolidor or is it better to have them out in the open? I dont have any cedar trays yet, but can source them.
  5. The weather since arriving Sat night has been nothing but rain, so haven't been able to get out and explore . I did venture to the cigar factory and spent some time shopping in their Humidor. Bought a box of their own Corona's which I was given a stick to sample on arrival, as well as purchasing a variety of single sticks I wanted to try. Both Dominican and Cubans were on offer, so I enjoyed adding some nice sticks to the collection. Will try and upload some pics soon, but nothing too exciting!
  6. Yeh the store I found was awesome! I found the prices to be quite good, actually cheaper than online for the boxes I purchased, but not by a lot.
  7. Ok, thanks for the heads up;) I thought the Cubans available would be a lot cheaper than prices available in Australia. Also, dont really know too many DR cigars to make good quality choices, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Yes I am staying in Punta Cana, dont know many of the DR brands but will check them out for sure. Thanks for the tips
  9. Thanks, I have done my research about Don Lucas as well as Cigar Country at local shopping centre and they seem to be pretty legit, but I have researched that there are a lot of fakes sold in resorts and on beaches, so will stay away from them. Thanks for the heads up though
  10. Guys, Just thought I would discuss my 1st trip to Dominican Republic. We arrived in Punta Cana yesterday and during my transit, I purchased a box of Partagas Mille Fleur's and a box of H.Upmann Royal Robusto's at Dubai Duty Free. Great prices with the MF coming out at $49USD and the HM R/Robusto's coming out at $130USD. Currently smoking the Partagas paired with some Dominican Republic coffee and throughly enjoying it and think it is a great value for money stick. I will be trying the Upmann later tonight with a nice glass of Pinot, so will fill you in later. I purchased a Punch Punch from the cigar room at Harrods when in London and again, really enjoyed this smoke. Paired with a few glasses on Pinto and if I had a second stick on me, most likely would have fired that up as well:) On Tuesday I am heading to the Don Lucas cigar factory for a tour, as well as a shopping spree. They sell a large variety of DR and Cuban cigars, so I have a few penciled in for purchase as I will be spending the following 2 weeks travelling through Prague and Amsterdam, so need some supplies. I will be coming home via Dubai so will hit up the Duty Free store again and purchase a few other boxes, will probably have more than allocated for 2 people travelling, but happy to pay the duty on them to start my collection. Will keep you posted on my tour of the cigar factory and purchases from the day.
  11. Sitting here smoking a Partagas MF in Punta Cana, I purchased a box of 10 at Dubai Duty Free for $49USD on your recommendation here, just want to say thanks. After further research, I may prefer the R&J MF which I will purchase a box at Dubai on my way back through, but happy to have the Partagas in the collection. I also purchased a box of H.Upmann Royal Robusto's for $128USD and havent yet sampled one, but plan to soon. For a new cigar enthusiast, thanks again for all the great content on this forum;)
  12. Currently sitting in Punta Cana smoking a Partagas MF sipping a Dominican coffee and can say I am really enjoying it. Its my very 1st Partagas MF as I am very new to the cigar game & bought a box of MF and H.Upmann Royal Robusto's for my trip. By the feedback above, sounds like I might enjoy the R&J MF more, as I like the smooth, creamy lighter cigar option at present. I bought them on the recommendation from this forum, so thanks again:)
  13. Out goes the putter collection, in comes the cigar collection
  14. Great topic guys and thanks to all for the great recommendations. Let the buying begin:)
