  1. My contribution after lurking for years. The BCG's were purchased one week before the announcement of their discontinuation, What a shame. These are HQ boxes.
  2. Just came in from smoking an 12' Epi 2. Wish I would have paid more attention to this cream aspect.
  3. I have 1 pound of Heartfelt beads in 2 mesh bags in a 52 qt coolidor that stays at a rock solid 65%. There are 11 boxes in there so far and at the rate that I smoke they could last for several years so it is a long term aging humidor for my purposes. I also have a 300 ct treasure dome humidor that has a mix of CC and NC that sits at 59-60%. I take a cigar from the coolidor and put it in the 300ct about a week to a month before smoking. This has worked well for me and I have noticed 60% tastes and burns a tad better than 65.
  4. Congrats! I have a box of PSP LUB July 14' Monte 2 that was purchased in March of 15'. The memory of the first cigar has faded but I remember the second one had a slight twang for about 3/4's of its length. Chris
  5. These are great cigars! I had one last Friday. The one I had had some nice citrus along with what you described.
  6. I agree with your review. The one and only Lusi I had a few years ago was pretty uneventful. I wouldn't mind getting a box of 10 to sit on for a few years though.
  7. I have a 10ct box from 14' that I purchased from here. The two cigars that I have had so far have been great in taste and burn. I did "dry box" them at 59-60% for 1-2 weeks before I tried them though. I have found that cigars that have burn construction issues never taste good most likely due to the wrapper, binder and filler proportions being different than what was intended. Another thing is take your time with the big ring guage cigars when you light them. I like to light them gradually and make sure there is an even burn ring at the start.
  8. I think bitterness is the wrong description just that they maintain enjoyable flavors from beginning to end without getting too dark in the last third. I keep my cooler at 65% but I try to plan for the next week or so and transfer some cigars to my humidor that sits around 58-60%. I think the hygrometer is reading a few % low though. All my cigars at the lower humidity level taste great even NC's. Funny thing is the one cigar that my buddy gave to me and opened my eyes to the world of cigars sat in a drawer for a month in 15-25% humidity and had the wrapper starting to peel off. That cigar was a one of the cheaper Fuentes and it was awesome one of the most memorable cigars I have had.
  9. I would try a Hoyo or an RYJ. Chris
  10. I just had an RYJ Petite Churchill recently and it was great. After 1 day in the humidor and a day laying on my coffee table after a trans Pacific flight it was ready to go. I like the ring guage and length of the petite robusto. I'm not sure but I think they may smoke more like an cigar that has a couple of years on it (mine are May 15's) due to having a larger area for air to flow in a short distance and not having time to build up too much bitterness like a typical youngish cigar towards the end. What do you guys think? Does that make sense? Next up are Monte PE Chris
  11. I have a 10 ct. box of these. Had two and was not impressed, put the remainder at the bottom of the humidor for a year and had one the other day and it was just as bad. Not much hope for the rest. I did not buy them from this site. Chris
  12. Sorry for your loss. I just lost my mother last week myself.
  13. I won't smoke in windy or sub optimal conditions anymore. Flavor, aroma and burn is never as good vs a still night.
  14. I agree on the San Cristobal El Principe. It is the only Cuban cigar that I ever experienced sweetness with. I would love to find a cigar that has sweetness along with Cuban twang. Chris
  15. Not that it was really rancid to begin with but I had some uninteresting MUR Oct 13' RASS that really turned a corner after I came back to them about 8 months after my last. This last one coated my pallet with a wonderful leathery/cappuccino like flavor that really grabbed my attention. Chris
