  1. IMHO, This is long overdue and will make interesting politics since our President has only 2 years left, the Senate and Congress will be controlled by his opposition party, and 2016 is an election year, meaning that 2015 no one will want to be on this issue. Lets see what JR Reynolds, etc..does to help sway our easily bought officials.
  2. The Chipmunks Christmas carols. I did not see them in concert though My first concert must have been The Cars.
  3. Dead cat....his name was Chet..named after Chet from Weird Science. once he died...I carried his name as myCHETboy.
  4. I agree with Ken from a personal relationship perspective. I would never want to hurt or screw over a fellow friend with this type of excuse. But as an inventor and risk taker in the technology arena, I must have this type of attitude in order for any type of breakthru idea to get going or implemented...sometimes (likely) middle and upper management get in the way of innovation and this is where this quote most applies to me in my daily life.
  5. Thank you everyone so far for your feedback...I am starting to narrow it down to Bolivar and QdO. Probably Boli for me since I have only had the Beli and Gold Medal so far and they have not disappointed. Plus I do love the QdO corona.
  6. Hi everyone, since there are really only 5 Churchill sized cigars under current production, it should be a simple process of elimination regarding current recommended offerings. It is such a same that this size was essentially killed-off in favor of the double-corona and larger gauge sized trends. I personally have found that the Churchill sized cigars have the best overall balance of flavor possibilities and size and is quite less imitating than the DCs. I sure hope that at least, Churchill's we be offered more regularly as limited or regional offering..in the mean time...your thoughts and recommendations? Cohiba Esplendios - way to inconsistent and hardly ever seen as HQ/PSP in the hand picked offerings, so this one is pretty much out for me. Especially considering the price for this brand. R&J Churchill -seems like these have risen to the top in terms or recent quality. May be the best alternative in terms of availability and quality. Quai d Orsay Imperiales - 3rd choice...still hardly ever seen in HQ or PSP. Bolivar Gigantes - open to purchase, but have not seen much feedback either way. Could be a hard horse? H Upmann Sir Winnie - my top pick, but finding it is nearly impossible. INCREASE PRODUCTION! My number one pick if the stars align. Prez....what are you seeing in terms of Quality and Availability in 2014?
  7. A few to ponder: If you cant fix it..f*ck it. Buy once; cry once Why be patient when instant gratification exists? Money is only something you need if you don't die tomorrow.
  8. NC from the 1993-1997: from my Hoyo De Monterrey Excalibur III La Gloria Cubana 2 Torpedo Maduro Davidoff Double R / Davidoff Grand Cru 1 Fuente Don Carlos series Padron Anniversary Maduro (any size)
  9. As long as referrals can be used.. I am good to go to private. Tell me who has bought blind anything without reviews and referrals? It's not elitist nor anything of the sort in order to protect and preserve this community...now and for the future...Amen Rob Preston
  10. Yep it happened to me. I was an avid noncc smoker from 1990 to 2000. I could never get cc or just thought they were ok and did not seek them out. I took a 5 year break and then pursued my go-to cigars again... Avo , davidoff, la Gloria and padron. I thought ... I was disenchanted to say the least....How did I even enjoy these cigars back then ?( 1990 to 2000)....About 3 months later I received a care package of aged Cubans and my world view changed forever . Juan Lopez , Cuban la Gloria Skinny and hoyo epicures made me see the light (all had 6 to8 years on them).. Currently I have only a small collection of 15 boxes of Cubans..all bought from foh.... I will never buy noncc and only buy my boxes from Rob.
  11. The only luck I have had with any of those you mentioned has been partp4 and only when bought my hand selections from Rob. Buying blind I have had terrible luck. The best for me have been Juan Lopez 2 Hoyo 2 St Luis Rey regas H upmann royal robusto H upmann mag 46 and 50
  12. The co-presenter at 5:20 looks like she was enjoying "wacky to-backie" from Colorado. I swore she said "good hit".
  13. No background check requested? I love it when 'customers' make demands upon artists... like it is a right of theirs. Rob you are an artisan! And we love u for it!
  14. Hi, I was wondering if there is official /published information on the 3rd 'special' fermentation process that tobacco undergoes? All I can find is that the tobacco goes under a 3rd fermentation process in barrels. What kind, how long, etc.. is mystery to me. Granted, my research is limited and only reference I can find is from 'The Cigar Companion' book by Anwer Bati. Any other information out there which which is more specific? -Rob
