Hello,

I just enjoyed a fantastic PLPC from 07 (part of the czar singles selection). only had one before and was very spicy and cedary. this one was much sweeter but still full and spicy.

construction- It looked good (no photos sorry), felt good, great draw and produced very large volumes of white smoke which smelt sweet. about 45 mins.

flavours - pine needles, snapped tree branch/tree sap, espresso coffee in places, sweet cedar, rich tobacco, a hint of fruityness (tropical fruits), 'ash' throughout, very peppery through the nose.

body - very full but in balance.

Overall - a fantastic, very complex cigar, I can see why this is many peoples "go to" cigar and I will buy a cabinet at some stage I am sure. Displayed both dark, brooding flavours and also sweeter, elegant flavours. full bodied and doesnt muck around.

89/100

paired with - bruichladdich 12 yr scotch - sweet (pineapple, vanillan oak) and spicy, smokey also. brought out the plpc's sweeter characters and complemented the spice factor, a good pair imo.

Thanks for reading,

Dicko

Good review, thanks Dicko. Sounds a lot like a Pl Montecarlo I had last week. Only just started with this brand, am keen to try some Pc's soon or Panatela's. :)

Really enjoy the Panatelas. A $2 cigar is good if very simple, and lasts as long as my walk home from work is just what the Dr. ordered after a tough day! Don't see them on the Czars' website but they aren't hard to get hold of.

This past Sunday I also had a PLPC from 07... It had the sweet flavor profile already showing up. However mine was mild to medium in strength. Very good cigar that has been developing beautifully even though I liked them when young too.

My 07 PLPC have been letting me down lately. I hope it is just a handfull of bad apples. Non descript and boring. Hopefully they are just a little sick or dumb...

A $2 cigar! Man, I'm in the wrong country (not really, I love Australia - but I love a good cigar also).

I buy them in country for that price, not duty free. Canada has very high tobacco taxes, probably not disimilar to Australia. It's just really a VERY inexpensive cigar. Bear in mind that it's short filler and only finished by hand, pretty small and not complex. I wouldn't hand them out at a special evening or anything...just a tasty Cuban treat and a good walking around cigar.
