Stumbled upon a bottle of Talisker 25yr. at a local beverage store for $119 today. Everywhere I see it advertised online has it up around $200 so I'm thinking I may go back and grab it. This is still a bit of a splurge for me but I love the 10yr and 18yr. Any thoughts on the 25yr as I have never tried it?

That's a big discount for a great bottle. I'd leave my desk and go pick it up right now.

Thanks Chen! That's all the encouragment that I needed. The shop is less than two miles from my office so I ran out and grabbed it and am already back with the bottle! I'm a sucker for a good deal!

I would be interested in some insights when it comes to pairing the Talisker with a cigar. It would have to be a very powerful cigar indeed to match the Talisker.

I have always enjoyed just about everything (particularly Bolivar) with the Talisker 10 and is supposed to be the most "beastly" of the range. The few times that I have had the 18yr have not been with a cigar but I would imagine that the 18 and 25 would be an even friendlier pairing. I am not picky at all about pairings though and generally find that cigars go great with just about everything!

Good for you...that deal was seriously too good to pass up. Like you...I am a sucker for a great deal. I guess that's how Czar suckers me into buying so many boxes of cigars. LoL.

I think Bolis would go great with Talisker, same with Partagas and RyJ Cazadores, RASS as well. Yum.
