Enema Of The State

*Please note, this short tale is not intended to compete with RA's ongoing saga*

This is about to get out of hand said Maximus Robusto. He swirled his drink and blankly checked the end of his lit cigar.

We should have been more prepared for all contingencies, said minister of everything José. We took for granted his gall and cunning.

Perhaps true said Hamlet, security minister. But until now he'd given no indication that he took his appointment or part in this all that seriously.

The three sat in a close circle in a well appointed room within a small out building of the presidential palace.

Sipping a drink and listening intently from a stool at a bar which ran along a wall behind the three cabinet members was foriegn minister Goreta,

her sharp eyes not betraying her thoughts. Seemingly oblivious to the goings on within the room, IT minister Smithy stared absentmindedly

out a window at the far end of the bar.

Nevertheless, it's time to end it, exclaimed Robusto. The die has been cast - let the chips fall where they may. The three of the inner circle

sipped their drinks and drew on their cigars - tasting nothing.

Smith and Goreta glanced at each other and nodded faintly, with Smith quietly making his way from the room.

In his personal chambers within the presidential palace, President Gargett paced, pounding his fists in fury. "They really think they can get

away with this - that I'm that stupid? I'll have their heads!"

Andrew Smith leaned in the doorway of the room, lighting a fresh cigar. Taking in the situation, and knowing what transpired here would

shape all things to come, he said "Presidente, please - calm yourself and think this through. You have the advantage - they think you know

nothing, but you have the full knowledge of their plans - use it to your benefit".

But president Gargett's rage could not be pacified. "They thought this some kind of joke - that I could be manipulated, as a simp? They'll

know the truth soon enough! In a fit of rage he smashed a mirror with a lamp and overturned the table the lamp had previously resided upon.

Huffing in exertion, President Gargett from his chamber, and nearly in unison from his chair in the palace out building, VP Maximus Robusto

uttered these words......

There can be only one.....
