aavkk Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 very nice Rob, its too bad these are priced the way they are. However, I seriously doubt in 10 years I will look back and say I made the right decision to pass on the original release. We will see...
Habanos2000 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Boy that looks delish!!! Can't wait to hear how they perform.
SethG Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I smoked one, the burn was difficult and it was extremely bitter. I'll smoke another today and post up what I think. The Mag 48 was the same really. The Duke was bizarre, burn was extremely difficult to manage and it was so herbal and spicy and strong as to be a very difficult smoke. Harsh I guess you'd say.

This is the kind of EL/ER experience that makes me smile every time I pull a delicious $6/stick RASS out of my cab. Wilkey
SethG Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Okay, so I smoked another last night and it was a very different experience in general. Burn was even and quite good. It tasted woodsy and was quite bold but pretty easy to smoke in general. Very strange difference, couldn't have been in my humidor all that long so I figure it must be just a QC issue. Which isn't surprising, I've gotten tons of boxes recently where there have been a few mediocre apples. Last year's EL's were really great. The Cuaba's were amazing and the Montecristo's truly had a power and spice that will likely serve them for years to come. The Trinidad Robusto isn't an LE, so I'm trying to see what I think. On that note, my buddy still has a box of Upmann Mag 50 LE's, while the new cigars are great, the LE box he has is extremely bitter. It's managed to hold onto that bitter taste for years now.
