Just got a cabinet of these nearly 7 year old beauties & after a couple weeks rest, fired one up. Very light wrapper, to me always a good sign in a BCE. I was hoping for good things because 02 produced the best BPCs I've smoked. I was not disappointed! The cigar had a perfect draw & burn, that trademark Boli earthiness and quite a kick to it. As I smoked, the cigar kept getting stronger & stronger & stronger. As I like strong cigars, I was in heaven. I'd have to say this is the strongest regular production post 95 Cuban cigar I've ever smoked- stronger than my 01 & 06 RyJ Cazadores and 98 SS#2s. I have far too many cigars, but just might have to get another cab of these anyway.

Thanks for the review! I've an '06 cab in hiding, and I'm looking forward them.

I've been smoking DB versions of 06s. Thought THEY were fairly strong until I got these 02s.

sounds great Steve. Isn't it a great feeling knowing that after you smoke a great cigar that you have 49 of them left!

They are just great cigars aren't they ;)

I think from 06 the strength has tempered somewhat but the complexity is anything, magnified.

The 06s certainly taste good to me. Just truly surprised at how strong the 02s are. Wonder what they were like when fresh...

Gotta agree... this is one great 'bread and butter' cigar. Love them.

One of my favorite "go-to" cigars. I don't recall having had an '02, but I had some '01s that were strong and earthy. The strongest BCE I ever smoked came from Rob and Lisa. It was an early '04 I believe... part of a sampler. It took pure determination and some luck just to finish it. It was like smoking black pepper.
