Jokermann Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Will keep this review short Wrapper was very dark, prelight smell of cedar and clean fresh tobacco, very little ammonia present. I was half-expecting a cut down BBF, but this was not the case at all. Fruity flavors, sweet notes, and a finish of creamed coffee describe this cigar. Not a typical Boli, in fact if I was handed one blind, I would never have guessed a Boli. Strength was 2.5/5. If the official release cigars are as good as this one, I will be sure to stock up. Score of 86/100 with a 90+ potential.. Sorry about the last image, got dark on me.
Padrino Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Interesting review. They sampling the '09 range already ? Here's hoping all the '09 EL wrappers look that good !
FireDigger Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Wow, they released the 09's already? Thanks for the review.
Colt45 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Not a typical Boli, in fact if I was handed one blind, I would never have guessed a Boli. This seems to be the general knock with ELs - that they offer a generic flavor profile that does not necessarily represent the marque. Thanks for the review
FireDigger Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Wow, they released the 09's already? Thanks for the review. Nevermind, I just re-read your post where you implied these are not the production cigars.
El Presidente Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Thank you for the heads up! I look forward to seeing them in the flesh. I know HSA wanted to change direction in the LE's to ensure that the release (09 onwards) were more characteristic (in terms of flavour) of the Marques they celebrated.
