Had these in the humidor for a year now. Have been keeping them for a friend who's a non-smoker but "occasionally" has one of these small, pathetic looking Cohibas in order to impress people in bars etc. He bought them in Cuba, simply because they were the cheapest Cohibas he could find.

Decided to try one last night , having turned up my nose to them for over a year now. THIS CIGAR IS FANTASTIC!

I'm not an experienced reviewer, so won't be able to go into details, but the taste was typical Cohiba, similar to Siglo IV I thought. The cigar was strong, but not harsh, the flavours were very full, and the cigar offered a lot of smoke. The flavour even "developed" from the 1st third to the final third. This impressed me considering it's such a small cigar.

The strangest thing was that it took me almost an hour to smoke! I felt like an idiot, having so tremedously underrated this cigar for over a year now... This was the last one in the humidor too... Could've claimed a few more of these instead of seeing them wasted on my mate who has no idea what he's smoking (I remember one time when I brought him one, we went to a bar, and the fr*ggin idiot sat on it! Had the cigar in his back pocket!)

I recommend this cigar highly for the following occasions:

1. When you're short of time

2. During the day (lunch break?)

3. When you're in the company of non-smokers

4. When you're sick or have a sore throat and can't handle a regular-sized Habano

I'd give it a 9/10. Loses a point for being so small and pathetic-looking. But a very underrated cigar.

I like the panetelas also for a quick smoke or a morning smoke, same as other small handmade vitolas like entractos. Hard to find a well made bunch (usually to tight), but very enjoyable when they on. Try RyJ Petit Julietas.

Roo..good post.

Taino hit it on the head. Finding a consistently good roll on these is the key. I don't think any other size format sruggles as much....Construction, Construction, Construction. There is simply no room for error. Rolled too tight and there is no solution to opening up the draw....you have to chuck them out. Rolled too loose and they burn like a cigarette and as hot as hell.

However, rolled perfectly and they are a marvellous rich treat.
