Ken Gargett Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 that has to be the greatest and most corageous win in origin history. unbelievable. got one of those blood pressure machines and took it in the 2nd half. 151/77 with pulse at 125. still coming down. to beat nsw at their home with 6 or 7 players down with a virus, endless injuries, inglis taken out by that thug barrett - he should get the rest of the season on the sidelines - and so many disgraceful decisions - that grub harrigan will never change - ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE. congrats to a truly great team and so good to see them make history. so well deserved.
Colt45 Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Ken, congrats to you and the glorious maroons (whoever they are). I heard the U.S. beat Spain in some kind of kickball match as well.
Bill Hayes Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Billy Slater and Cam Smith Combo seals the win. Go Storm! PS. How funny was that attempted weak tackle on Israel Falau when he did the fox trot on the spot and glided through the middle of them for a try. Embarrassing. I guess they had to belt Inglis to have any chance.
Habanos2000 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Ken, congrats to you and the glorious maroons (whoever they are).I heard the U.S. beat Spain in some kind of kickball match as well. I heard about that too Colt. 24 guys trying to kick a ball into a net? It'll never catch on.

The Blues were hopeless. Worst play ever. Worst selections ever. Got what they deserved - actually better than they deserved. Sack them all - from the selectors to the coach to the players - and give people who actually care and can play a go. Not even the refs could make it closer with "interesting" decisions [surely there must be pressure from tv land on the administrators to try to get matches like this closer to increase ratings and interest in the 3rd game but that's another story]. Maroons were way too good and the scoreline flattered the blues.

Maroons were way too good and the scoreline flattered the blues. you do have to wonder about wanting a decider when you see some of those decisions???? but lang park will be chockers, sold out. guess they are concerned about sydney tv ratings. be very interesting to see who stays for the blues. gidley, hayne, o'donnell probably the only three certain. suspect ennis for farah. pearce? lewis, bailey, jennings, wing to return. learoyd-lars? mullins? poore and weyman worth perserving with. please pick williams again. i'd be inclined to give wallace another go, though i can see them going with pearce, mullins or even soward, and move gidley to 5/8. blues look much better with him in close, and move hayne to fullback - your best in both games by a mile (how the hell thurston didn't get man of the match is beyond me). watmouth should stay i think. if idris wasn't injured, could be a smoky. what they desparately need to do is stick with some players for a bit. assuming the halves change again, it will be the 10th different combo in the last eleven games. qld stuck with same front row, same halves, bar injury etc etc. easier to do when you are winning but remember that we were on the wrong end when the selectors spotted what talent we had and stuck with it. now we have history. if both inglis and hodges fit for game 3, look out!
