Monticillo Gran Reserva 201 Rioja

I have bought this wine in years past but happened to notice it at costco this weekend and grabbed a bottle for about a double sawbuck.

Now this is well worth the price of admission. Nice full body. Smooth. I am gettin' me some more of this one!

If you see it, get it!

I've tried a number of their wines over the years and am not really a fan. In this price range, I prefer Marqués de Cáceres.

My favorite Rioja as of late has been the 2001 Viña Alberdi Selección Especial - ≈ U.S. $23 but to my palate, well

worth it.

Interesting. I guess that is why they make vanilla and chocolate. I dont care the the Caceres.

Oh I almost forgot. This bottle went wonderfully with a Boli CG.
