Jimmy2 Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Anyone know how the 2008's are smoking just wondering as i have not smoked any in a while?
sounddust Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I just had 2 last week. Absolutely fantastic specimens of construction, draw, burn and aroma. A smooth, medium-bodied woody flavor with little floral hints. The aftertaste was short, but sweet with no excessive "woodiness". A most delectable cigar at any time of the day.
BonVivant Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 A most delectable cigar at any time of the day. What is above. An overlooked brand, since late 90's, IMHO.. One of my favorites: the '08's are great, but give it a little age and it becomes fantastic.
shrink Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Jimmy, I have been wondering the same thing. I recently got a box of '08 JL#2, and sampled one after a month's stabilization. Still much too young, but it shows real potential, with rich flavors and strength of character. More latent complexity than my box of ENE06's, which are still sleeping. The JL#1 is one of the unsung heroes among Coronas Gorda. I've never had a great one, but I've enjoyed those I've had from '01 and '03. We need a review of an '08!
