SamuraiJack Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Just curious why AU dollar prices are higher (after conversion). I am guessing AU prices include taxes? Is the restriction where they get shipped?
Tampa1257 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 While it is against the forum rules to talk about cigar prices, I will say this, in Australia, Taxes are required to be collected. Export does not have taxes collected.
Trevor2118 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 In Australia, two things add to the cost of cigars. 1. Tobacco Tariff tax: $321.00 per kg. 2. A GST (Goods & Services Tax) of 10% on the final selling cost.
SamuraiJack Posted March 22, 2009 Author Posted March 22, 2009 Oops, didn't know it was against the rules, sorry.
Trevor2118 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Oops, didn't know it was against the rules, sorry. I don't see this thread as against the rules...there was no discussion of specific prices...it was about the tax structure in Australia. That is all I read into the question or was some part of the thread deleted?
