just had a long session with rob, post our next video report.

i raised the possibilty of this. if any/enough members were interested, we could look at arranging a trout fly fishing trip to nz, the nelson lakes region of the south island - i think that it is the best trout fishing in the world (i have recently done three posts on my latest trip). we could meet for a few days early october. i have good contacts. members would presumably, if they have travelled far, want to do other things but this could be the core of a visit.

we would need early commitment and obviously it would not be cheap (love to base it at lake rotoroa lodge - check out their website - don't have it but google them).

if there is interest, post here or email/message me and we can look at it. could be a mouse year!

Ken,

I've only had a quick chance to look at the Rotoroa webside. Are the prices quoted NZD or some other currency. If they're NZDs, those prices are not unreasonable.

I'd be keen... sounds like fun!.

But damn it would be cold that time of year. (I do appreciate its great fishing that time as well) .

Depends... Are you supplying copious amounts of fine wine? In UNOPENED bottles? What's a mouse year? How many do you need for the discount rate? :D

didn't know they had a discount rate. just assumed you'd pay for me!!

nz has plenty of good wine.

it could be cool but they do waders.

once a decade or so, they have a mouse palgue. many predicting it for next season. the trout feed on them as many fall in and the trout get very fat.

Palgue? Is that Maori? :D

Bass in the local rivers do the same with the mice.

Going now to check on the discount, looked this morning at the site. I could be wrong.

smithy, my abject apologies for not including you. it was simply that he was there for a long session and you for a short session, and as i described it as a long session, it did not seem appropriate to note your attendance. also, i did not want others to get the wrong impression and think you were some lowlife boozer with no place to go, whereas the barn door long slammed shut on ayala for that.

finally, as you were not there for that part of the discussion (i think???), again, didn't sem appropriate.

i hope you will accept my heartfelt and deepest apologies.

Ayala do you want to comment on this one first or should I fire away on this?

It's not worth it Smithy.

Each week we trundle to the outback to spend time with him akin to the blue Nurses spending time with the elderly. We simply want to make sure that Ken has not suffocated under cardboard boxes or injured himself during sexual fetishes dressed in his Umpa Lumpa fly fishing outfit + terrified possum and ducktape.

No Smithy....occasionally in life you need to take the abuse but continue giving.
