Ken Gargett Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 anyone read any don winslow? am well into 'the power of the dog' - a novel, though much reads as though it is taken from reality, all about the war on drugs in the 80s etc and the connection with arms into central america. really enjoying it. will definitely read more of his.

Lanthor Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Ken, Baer was a CIA handler working in the middle east during the cold war (thus not really relevant to the topic of author so appologize). Book outlines the run up to 911 and a foot soldiers view on the need and proper way to handle the intelligence apparatus. Again, quick read and very good. Cheers, mike
