Colt45 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Colt I don't defend either side of the argument. I simply try to explain the thought process. RA, I don't know that I'd be able to articulate my true thoughts via the forum, so rather than go round and round, suffice it to say that I have nothing against or any disagreement with the people or their beliefs. I can't stress enough that I know nothing of Cuba, her people, their way of life, their ideals. I have a very basic knowledge of the history from colonial times on. Let's just say I have a thing about despotism.
FlyFishingDude Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 If singles or a split (I'd be in Mike) could happen, I would have to try a few. A full box, outta my range... Another option, keep the investors at 10, cut the leftover 5 in half and send them along to the original ten for a taste.....Don't mind me, I'm certifiable!!!!!
El Presidente Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Let's just say I have a thing about despotism. You and me both. The problem we talk about is neither the fault of the Cuban exiles not those who live in Cuba today. The poison was dispersed by the regime in power (and the one prior) and the poison runs deep. I would lke to take the opportunity of welcoming Alejandro Castro to the forum
PigFish Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 My sage advice here is to not delve deeply into any country's political structure. We are here as friends to smoke and talk about cigars. Political and religious conversations are highly divisive and can make friends wish to light friends coattails verses cigars and that is not positive for anyone.
Jimmy2 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I think its should be talked about if others cant take it and start having bad feeling with someone who states his views does not belong saying anything and should not read the post than. I have speaked my mind here many times but i never have any bad feelings toward anyone with there views its your right. But when someone mouths off and attacks my character than its a differant story just because they did not like what i had to say. Rob can you make a room where we can talk about things like this where we can give our veiws on things going on around the world. With out people crying because they dont agree with us or we dont agree with them and take hard feeling on someone because of there own views. Vietnam and China have done more bad things to us during Korean War and Vietnam War yet we are good friends today. China has the worst human rights atrocities in the world but are getting better but we still deal with them on a large scale. Yet Cuba we do not talk to because of the greed in Florida with these Cuban organization that get money from our Gov (For Cuban American Vote mostly Republican )so they can stay afloat. They will be washed up and funding will stop if embargo ends so they have alot to lose.Just selfishness on there end and my tax dollars for years have been wasted on a failed policy as the Cubans in Florida did not vote for Obama I hope my tax money stops going to them and there organizations. The Cubans who followed Batista that live in Florida are the problem and are just as bad as Fidel they want the Embargo to end when the Castro's die so they can pick the country clean. If Obama talks with Raul and the embargo ends while the Cuban style of Gov is intact .They will never see there land and so on so its all greed on there part with some of the exiles. We must move on as we did with Vietnam ,Japan and others so we may heal the wounds from yesterday to make a better place today. These are my views on this and if you don't like I am sorry ..
Padrino Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 I'm with PigFish on this one. While there are those of us that can accept another point of view objectively it always seems to get out of hand on a forum. The main reason I like this forum/community are the varieties of nationalities. More common sense and tolerance in here than the majority of other forums out there. On other forums merely commenting on USA/International politics will get you a roasting and a flood of negative rep even if the opinion given was asked for.

For what it's worth, Rob already has a "no politics" policy in place. And I agree that there are plenty of places people so inclined can go to do so.
Jimmy2 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 cant we just all get along . Hopefully Rob can make a room just for this that you have to subscribe to so we can talk about (So if you enter the room no softy's allowed) different views as this how you learn about things in life .I like to see what others have to say about different things about what goes on in the real world not always candy coated topics all the time. Rob I hope you can make a private room by invite as I think some tough topics should be talked about as smoking a cigar and peoples views are as one. Its what smoking a cigar is all about and always has and always will you will never change it as it will come up one time or another..
Guest rob Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 ... so anyway, those Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reservas should be interesting.
Jimmy2 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 LOL Rob your Italian temper I can feel it ..LOL Rob I hope you can see it from my view as an American I cannot go there and its not fare as this embargo was mainly meant for the Missile Crisis which was LONG ago. Anything about human rights (as I am against it all over the world) and so on was not why the embargo was put in place its now a present thing because of the Florida Cuban votes and in return money for there organazations. Its bad politics and wasted money for many years that has done nothing to the government there .I feel as I am missing out on something great by not going there and enjoying life to the fullest as I think many here would argree. And are sick of some of the polices that our government have imposed for to long that just don't work. If it really has to do with Human Rights than we should do it to all of Governments you cant pick and chose. This will be my last post on this.
