I'm pretty new to Cuban cigars. I have only smoked a handful in the past. So, I need some suggestions for what CCs to order. I would like to get a good variety to find out what brands I will like. It would be great if I could smoke them now or within a year. I would prefer not to wait 2+ years before sampling them. Hopefully based on my non cuban preferences, you guys will be able to lead me in the right direction.

My favorite NCs are:

-Brown Label Tats (I love their straightforward tobacco flavor)

-Fuente Don Carlos (Pretty much my ideal smoke)

-Fuente Hemingway Maduros (I like the sweetness of them)

-DPG Serie JJ (I like the spicyness of them)

Some popular NCs that I don't care for at all:

-Padron 1964 Maduro (tastes like charcoal to me)

-Oliva V (unpleasant burnt flavor)

-Camacho (I've disliked the 3 or 4 different cigars I've tried)

-Nub (all 3 wrappers are terrible)

Thanks in advance,

Brad

Cohiba robusto, siglo2 , Partagas shorts and Romeo short churchill.

There would be much more recommendation, What good cigars in my brain right now are them.

I would say for you the BBF for some tobacco and white pepper spice that would be a Tat Brown label and any Partagas would be the Fuente equivelant with that tobacco, sweet/spice and both would give you the up front oomph of the DPG JJ punch that he is known for. You can't go wrong though with any of the suggestions mentioned above and I'm sure there will be more veteran cuban smokers that can give you some advice. Those that I mentioned above are some of my fave's but just remember that cuban tobacco has a taste and twang all of its own that is untouched by any other.

Wow, thanks guys. This is exactly what I was looking for. I definitely like the sweet/spicy flavor profile. I'll be checking out these suggestions in the near future.

Thanks,

Brad

May I recommend the Punch Petit Punch?

It's a great little cigar, at about the same size as a Cohiba Secretos it's a quick smoke, but you can savor it. It's a go to for me.

No matter your palate you'll most likely enjoy it.

Another one with a sweet profile to seriously consider would be: San Cristóbal de La Habana - El Príncipe

A lovely fruity/dark chocolate sweetness to them.

I think when your new to Cigars, it helps to stick to smaller ring gauges. Its harder for a young smoker to "understand" a fat cigar.

Try:

Monte 4 (Always good for introduction to Habanos)

Party Shorts (spicy)

Boli PC
