This is one of my favorite cigars as I'm a big fan of the Partagas brand and of torps/belicosos. Lit up a Jun 05 sample a week ago and it was just so lush and full of rich, smooth tobacco, a little spice and that prototypical Partagas flavor. I could tell by how smooth and rich the flavors were, it left a very long lush finish, that this had a few years on it. I was a little surprised by how medium bodied this cigar stayed and maybe that has to do with the age. From what I remember this cigar was alot spicier and the flavors more bold. The edges have rounded out and some of that upfront spice has smoothed over. Very, very good cigar. I haven't smoked anything but 05 and 06 PSP2's, I would love to see a czar review of the more recent production. How bout it Smitty. Anyone else have any input of the 07/08's.

I agree completely with your assesment. While I have not had any of the 07/08 productions either, the 2006's I have are extremely smooth and well balanced with no spice. I have read reviews saying it's a strong powerful smoke like the PSD4 but I have yet to have one that matches that profile.

Most think the early 05 were great had 2 boxes that were bland just terrible.The late 06 have been a much improvement med with some nice PArtagas flavors.07/08 the.ones I have sampled have even been better with more power and richness.

I'm just wondering if that power mellows with time and you trade it for a richer more rounded and complex smoke. That is what I was thinking when I was smoking that 05 example. It was good but just more refined than I last remember.
