Just browsed thru CA's latest and was impressed. There is a lot of great info on Cuba, a memo for Obama, and real encouragement for him to be the first to end the embargo, did a breakdown of how many US presidents "tried" to end the embargo, just brimming with CUBA, this edition is. I even felt more Cuban Smokes ranked higher in this month's Vitola section. I liked the part where they make it plain as day, that Cuban cigars are THE Benchmark.

Plenty folks sucking on Rocky Patels here in the US will benefit from this edition.

Don't get me wrong, I even named our pitbull/lab mix, Rocky, and have smoked a ton of his cigars when I first started out. Just that it's a stepping stone for a developing palate. That's all it can be.

Maybe, the "aficionado" in them had a reality check, maybe Suckling felt he couldn't sucker us anymore? Who knows.

But this is ths good stuff that makes CA enjoyable.

Even if I have to turn 5 pages of high priced garbage for one good article. :2thumbs:

Taken for what it is - a commercial publication and NOT the Scriptures - it's a fun (albeit overpriced) magazine that used to be much more involved in cigars before the focus shifted to 'the Good Life'.... the better to attract new fields of advertisers - not that there is anything wrong with that.. :2thumbs:

As far as their ratings for various cigars - as has been said on this Forum many times - YOU are the only one who can determine what is or is not to YOUR tastes - but I have to admit when I see some no name Honduran Campanas rated 15 points over an Habana Upmann 2 - it does bring a laugh.

The June 2007 issue is packed with nothing but Cuba, great issue.

In fact, I had to dump that issue before a flight to avoid suspicion on some travel sticks -

If anyone has a copy they want to let go of, let me know.

totally agree, gotta take it for what it's worth.

This month's mag went a little above and beyond in their memo to Obama, and their articles in Cuba.

By highlighting 50 years of failed policy towards Cuba, unsuccessful attempts of so many past Presidents, the inner workings of clandestine meetings between the US and Fidel's people, and the concluding part where Obama is given some killer advice, was nothing short of enlightening I think.

give it a read, I'd love to hear more thoughts on this.
