Punch Serie D'Oro no.1 (piramides) exclusive RE to the UK market....anyone have any info on these or smoked one?

i know i was very happy to hear these were being released.....UNTIL.....i seen the prices!! "ouch".

looking at $650 USD for a box! a little expensive IMHO.

a buddy of mine tried one pre-release and said they were pretty good though.

i am not sure if i will get a box.

IMO , wouldnt even think about them unless they dropped a few hundred dollars per box

But the La Gloria Cubana Gloriosos...those are good, very aromatic !

now THAT is a box that i will be picking up! love how they are released in the ten count boxes and the bands look wonderful.

i'll be sure to grab a few boxes, one to try out and 2 or 3 for deep, deep sleep!

i was gifted one each of the UK regionals by Hunters & Frankau to sample. The Punch Serie D"Oro No.1 has a beautiful packaging (wood box w/a yellow ribbon on upper tray) but the smoke is too way young to tell. Very subtle hint of typical 'Punch' woodiness which i was expecting more of!

However, not knowing what to expect...La Gloria Gloriosos was a very pleasant surprise...honey sweet much like one of my favorite, La Gloria Medialle No.2.
