asmith Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 So I was shopping the other day, thought I might pick up a bargin in the post Christmas sales. I went into one of my favourite book stores and what did I find in the discount bin...... Australia's top wine writer has been discounted never...
Don Candido Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 In the US retailers are already way ahead of you guys. For books here, by well-known and liked authors they are marked down 50%. For books with the year "2008" in the title by those same authors the mark down is about 75%. For the unknown authors with an old year in the title? Not so sure they will go at any price... At least none of US would title a book with a year in it. That would be silly.

Tampa1257 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Wow, finding out that Ken's words have already been discounted is like finding out that his value is only worth 20% on the dollar. Does that mean we only listen to 20% of what he says?

Habanos2000 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Could they find an even lower shelf to put the book on??
Dr.G Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Don't worry Ken, I'm still gonna get your new book. In fact my girlfriend was disappointed it wasn't out before Xmas, as she didn't know what to get me! (she's bought dbwwm for Xmas the last few years!). When will the '09 be out? Oh and Happy Birthday! Cheers, George
