perfectform Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I have only one of these from a trade I made several months ago. Box Code PUT JUL 06. Great construction first of all-Nice dark chocolate colored wrapper with nice flecks of oil throughout. Smell at cold was rather muted, some barnyard and tobacco. Clipped the cap and whoa! Wide open draw. Taste at cold was sweet tobacco. It took to flame rather easily and bam! Immediate lovely chocolate and cocoa notes. No hint of Montecristo through the first 2/3. I normally can't stand a wide open draw but the flavors of this cigar were so concentrated and delightful I didn't mind. First third was light to medium body. Body increased to medium, then to medium full on the final third. Monte finally showed up with his roasted coffee and tobacco flavors at the end. This thing was rockin and for those of you with boxes of these, please, enjoy now! They are delicious and ready to go... This plays second fiddle IMO to the 2003 Hoyomid, my favorite cigar ever, but still rocks the house. An easy 95/100
Don Candido Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I like these. I often say I think they taste like candy. I do not get any Monte from them yet. I think they are fun to smoke now - not infanticide. But I think they have plenty of aging and change to go through still.
