Colt45 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 And it's been pure hit or miss. what is most noticiable is the QC between my 2 boxes. (same box code) The 1st box is absolutely flawless yet box #2 has me wondering how it passed QC. It's unfortunate that this still has to be a concern. I've been smoking from an '06 box of HdM Epicure No.1 that have, to date, all been construction perfection - a divot under every cap, perfect draws, tons of smoke. Whomever rolled these is to be commended - I wish I could get them to roll all my cigars. So, it can be done right - I just wish it could be done consistently, and that construction was a non-issue.
brutusthebuckeye Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Someone had mentioned in another thread these cigars must be coming from several different factories and I have to agree. I'm well into my 2nd cab of Mag 50 (EMA MAY 08)And it's been pure hit or miss. what is most noticiable is the QC between my 2 boxes. (same box code) The 1st box is absolutely flawless yet box #2 has me wondering how it passed QC. Here's a shot, kinda hard to tell since I 86'd all the sick looking sticks from the box. nevertheless, the top stick is from box #2 they all share uneven (somewhat crooked) construction, green spots on the wrapper and not so sharp bands. (bottom stick is from my 1st box) getting back to what i said about them being hit or miss...the one's that i had that were "good" were in fact just as good as ones from cab #1 so go figure! The 10 count box i have all the sticks look like the top stick from your #2 box...they are not pretty at all...
tapewormboy Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I smoked another from my cab of 10 (URO factory). The draw was better this time (first one was loose) but the flavor was nothing to write home about. Still quite a bit of harshness. I can't say I will be buying anymore of these in the near future.
