Van55 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Pre-light: Fine construction. Toothy medium brown wroapper with a smear of green color just below and perpendicualr to the band. Wonderful tobacco aroma. Draw was tangy and perfect. First 1/3: Shorts have a reputation as little powerhouses, but this one didn;t live up to that reputation at first blush. It quickly established itself, however. Very tingly through the nose and full in the mouth. Huge volume of smoke for a little guy. "Pepper and spice" defined it. Very nice aftertaste. Perfect burn with a flaky medium gray ash. Second 1/2 "Pepper pot." But not every toke is as potent as the others. A strong toke gave way to a could of much smoother ones. Tastes almost overpowered a solid Spanish red "cabernet". Nice little kick in the palate from time to time. Final 1/3 As frequently happens with great little cigars, I was left thinking it was too damned short. While there is a great deal to be said for a "slow hand" an intense quickie can be almost as satisfying. Conclusion: Four smoke rings.

Flavour, complexity, and a longing for it not to finish. Mission accomplished.
shrink Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I don't know why, but the '05 Shorts were among the best, if not THE best, Partagas vitolas rolled that year.
