gostgost Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Hey Jay, Did you see this? The Red Bank, New Jersey, Borough Council has decided not to renew Ashes Cigar Club Steakhouse and Seafood Raw Bar’s liquor license, but the club has filed an appeal with the state’s Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Ashes Cigar Club is one of the few restaurants in New Jersey that still allow patrons to smoke while dining and drinking. Three council members voted against the renewal, two council members voted in favor and one member abstained. Ashes Cigar Club has received several citations in the past. On February 2, Red Bank safety inspectors closed Ashes early because of overcrowding. The ABC is reviewing the appeal that the agency received on August 28. Red Bank borough attorney Kenneth Pringle told RedBankGreen.com, “It would take an extraordinary reason for the ABC not to renew.” Dave (gostgost)
Miami101 Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 New Jersey I do some business with some guys there... Maybe they should hire some resources to help them change the minds of the two that voted to close them down...............In Miami we call this a fishing trip into the Everglades....There nothing like nature, and wild life to change a man mind....;-)

Jay Hemingway Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 holy shite bro!! that's horrible man, that is the ONLY public cigar bar/resturant that i even know of in jersey. brings alot of business to that area, i personally think that is a stupid move on behalf of the township. :-(
gostgost Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 Yeah they did a lot of this on themselves if I recall. They overloaded the place and needed 2 towns worth of cops to empty the place. This is a nice place but as you know it take booze to a place like this going. Hope they work it out.
Jay Hemingway Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 oh yea, i heard about the so called "teen nights" and "dance party USA" nights they started over there on the weekends. funny, me and bigrons had plans to meet up there one saturday night. so i tell the old lady that i'm going over to "ashes", it's a cigar bar with nothing but old guys smoking stogies and shooting the ****. nothing to worry about or anything. than i get an earfull from her in the other room asking me to come over here. she than proceeds to show me an advertisement for "ashes" on saturday nights on myspace. WTF!!! lets just say the advertisement consisted of about 100 half naked girls running around drunk as hizzle with HUGE cigars slobbing out of their mouths hanging all over men with rings on their fingers! ha ha ha yea, i was in for the night after that one.:-D
gostgost Posted September 9, 2008 Author Posted September 9, 2008 LMAO, my wife kinda said the same thing

But when it cooler out winter and such I typically meet some friends after work there. I'll post next time I'm headed up there to meet some of my friends if your interested in joining.
