cvm4 Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Actually the Swiss market only...Not the whole European market. Just had to clarify that ;-)

In Italy, they have their own Regional Release, it is a totally different size cigar and has a totally different name. The Italian RA is a Corona Gorda and is named Seleccion Suprema. Also note that the Swiss release is limited to 1200 boxes that are NOT numbered like the Italian release. The Italian Regional Release is limited to only 500 boxes.

There's the Belicosos Finos for the English market (though not specially banded), the Emenencias for the Swiss, and Italian Seleccion Suprema. Did I miss any? Any of them worth the extra attention? From the reviews of the the Eminencias and the BF, neither seem to be that overwhelming. Anyone with experience with the Seleccion Suprema? Is it worth getting? Going to Italy in December.

They were released to honor the 160th anniversary of the Ramone Allones brand. Good luck finding a box when you go to Italy.

All the items currently available are typically extremely flavorful and complex (With AGE) The older a Ramon Allones becomes, the better it is. Have you ever smoked a 5 year old RASS? What about a 3-4 year old RA 898? or a 5 year old RASCC? Simply stated, aged Ramon Allones are palate pleasing on so many different levels they are worth buying and aging them for the future. Anyone that enjoys "Freshies" can pass on these, to smoke the Regional Releases now before aging them is just wasting a great cigar in my opinion.
cvm4 Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Thanks for clarifying a bit more for me up there Chuck ;-) I would almost bet the Italian regional release is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Not be mention there are no internet orders and you need to be present to buy them. I'm trying to get all the R.A. cigars I can because they were cut so much and I want to try them all before they are gone. i.e. R.A. Corona, R.A.898V, R.A. Eminencia (not cut but limited), etc.
