This is a paraphrased review, as we had a quick blackout that wiped out the longer one I'd written and was just about to post...

Appearance:

Nice milk chocolate colored wrapper, which smells slightly of leather. Foot looks well made, and smells vegetal.

Cut:

"Knot" under the cap...never a bad sign. Draw is just on the wrong side of loose, but not enough that it concerns me. Cold draw tastes of medium tobacco and pepper, with a salty aftertaste.

1st Third:

Initial draws are a pleasant combination of nuts and sweetness, but bitter/tannic flavors start to overwhelm. I'm a little surprised that a relatively "light" cigar such as this appears this young at 2 1/2 years of age.

2nd Third:

Underneath the youth, some interesting wood and chestnut notes start to evolve.

Final Third:

Woody nutty undertones lurk under bitterness/tannins.

I let it go out with a little more than an inch to go.

Certainly not something I would try again soon, but it will be interesting to see how they've evolved next summer.

85 out of 100 for now, but more aging could reveal a very nice cigar.

Thanks Tigger

Appears like a 5 year sleeper to me. A good chance that Sleeping Beauty will awake ;-)
