johns1485 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 In my brief but interesting Habanos smoking adventure (about 2 years) I have attempted to smoke a wide variety of cigars in various sizes and price ranges. Tonight I selected a Selectos and I must say this was a very pleasant cigar. I don't know the box code (not sure it really matters with these) but this was a nice mild cigar with a reasonably good burn and a somewhat loose draw. I was fortunate to be gifted some wonderful cigars by Peter and Dave at the Las Vegas event (H. Uppman and Cohiba) and the Selectos does not compare to these higher end cigars, but I did find it quite enjoyable. I am beginning to understand that , when it comes to Habanos, you really have to keep an open mind. Everyone has different tastes and expectations and it is only by personal experience that that you can find the the range of cigars that fit your taste. I will try to contribute more to the Forum in the future as it relates to my own experiences and I certainly appreciate the insight and entertainment that is provided by my fellow members.
El Presidente Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Thank you for the reminder. It must be 5 years since I have tried a LFDC Selectos. Sometimes these machine mades can be surprisingly good :-)
toasterhead Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 John, You are truly a gentleman and an original thinker. I look forward to more of your in-depth explorations of all things Habanos. By the way, Theresa and I thank you very much for the little surprise I received in the mail. You are a first rate BOTL. ;-) Your new best friend, Dave
SmokinAl Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Ahhh, but is there going to be a review?...
