Chicago Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 The last time the Chicago White Sox have been in the world series was 1959! The last world series was in 1917, the year Ken smoked his first cigar. ;-) I sure hope they continue whatever mojo they have taken into these playoffs. They look unstoppable at this point. Go Sox!:-D
idesign Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Yeah Baby! Go Sox...Let's just hope they don't throw it...oops, I mean blow it.
strayvector Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Congrats to the Sox. Here's hoping the Astros will join them after tonight's game.
Ben Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 » Yeah Baby! Go Sox...Let's just hope they don't throw it...oops, I mean blow it. Man that was a loooooong time ago. Maybe they've embraced it though. After all they do wear Black Sox
strayvector Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 » Yeah Baby! Go Sox...Let's just hope they don't throw it...oops, I mean blow » it. It's going to be really hard to choose who to root for if Houston wins their series. A team that's never even been to the World Series or a team that has not won it since 1917. Even more depressing for Chicago is the fact that they have 2 teams and the city has not seen a champion since that 1917 Sox team.
Elric Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 The White Sox...oh what is the world coming to! LOL I'll be rooting for the AL team have no fear, what else is a Yankee fan to do?
strayvector Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 » The White Sox...oh what is the world coming to! LOL » » I'll be rooting for the AL team have no fear, what else is a Yankee fan to » do? Take comfort in the knowledge that the Red Sox did worse than the Yankees in their series?
harwellplant Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 white sox and astros, book it. boring as hell to watch, but will be killer for those programs.
strayvector Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 » white sox and astros, book it. boring as hell to watch, but will be killer » for those programs. If it does happen, I don't think it will be that boring. You know that the Rocket will let it all hang out with his last chance at another ring. I can already see that if it goes seven, you'll have one ace starting and the other 2 making relief appearances and Lidge to close it out. Combine that and the fact that both cities have been SOL for baseball championships, you know the atmosphere will be electric.
tmos Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Hey now, the Cards aren't dead yet. We've got the Astros right where we want them. Carp will take tonight, Mulder will win game six, and Suppan is Mr. Game 7. This series is far from over....unless the bats remain silent.
idesign Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Sox / Stros would be a crazee pitching duel. The Sox throwing 4 CG's in a row to close out the series was freakin' awesome.
Mel Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I thought you were talking about my birthday with the 1959 stuff;-) Who the hell are the White Sox? Good to to see some new teams coming to the plate.
smk819 Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Who is this Arnold Rothstein character hanging around the Sox locker room?
cvm4 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Good season for Baseball...Hoping the Astros make it and that should make the World Series interesting :-D
strayvector Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 » Good season for Baseball...Hoping the Astros make it and that should make » the World Series interesting :-D Woohoo...dream match up. Hard to root against either of these teams and the misery their fans have suffered (without all the whining like them other Sox fans). Going to be a great WS and I'm home just in time to watch all the games live.
