cigarros Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Good choice of beer! Ashes is not similar on machine-made cigars, lookin' good!
Colt45 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Thanks for the review Rafa. As to the pics being cut off, there is a 640 x 200 pixel limit.
smokum Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nice review. This is the only El Rey vitola I have and wll try one again soon. I never did find a great one yet in my box.
stever Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nice review. I've liked the '05s I've smoked so far.
El Presidente Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Fantastic review Rafa. The cardboard element (not previously evident) in the flavour makes me wonder if the cigars are not nearing the end of their natural life. Enjoy the rest ;-)
rafa Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 This is an old and strange box , there isn't year date in the stamp, only factory code (REC) and month ( October). The only i Known is that the Spanish stickers are before 2001. And, in the box you can read "Made by hand"...and i ask, Are Coronas de luxe Machine Made???. Strange world of Habanos... The cigar is almost maduro wrapper, tight ,with flabby ash and a good smoke volume. Taste in the beginning is confused and inconsistent , with slight nuances of vegetal, coffee, floral,nuts,honey,leather... cardboard. Very smooth. There is not wood or cedar in this cigar. Some of my favorite girls ( two blondies and one redhair) :-P From the middle to the end predominance of cinnamon, honey, vanilla...and cardboard. This cigar hasn't been the better cigar i have smoked from this box (i only give 87). Not a bad cigar , but i have smoked almost all cigars from this box ( only left 4), and some of them has been glorious. They have two sides: Some cigars has been like this, and others taste and smell has been more intense, more sweet, with more pronounced nuances...and without cardboard taste. I have a younger single stick that i will try to smoke next days to compare with this. I haven't said, but el Rey del mundo is one of my favorite brands.
