thschrminm Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I have always wondered what it would be like to have a room in the house to smoke in without going outdoors... It's not happening so I am precluded to the patio to enjoy my moments of Havana... How many of you smoke indoors???
Colt45 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Outdoors only here as well. During the winter this means little or no smoking. I don't really have a desire to smoke in the house. Perhaps if I had a dedicated area, with a proper ventilation system.......
joerose Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Occasionally I can get away with smoking a petit corona or smaller in the living room which has several windows. My kids won't let me smoke in the 'tv' room because the cockatiel is there and anywhere else is verboten due to poor air circulation (additionally, I live in NYC and the only 'rest of the house' is the bedrooms). If the weather is nice I go to the roof or street where there is a bar immediately next door with benches and an awning
cf2112 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I can smoke in my office downstairs and on occasion upstairs with the attic fan going
Spud2 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Home sweet garage, ocassionally outdoors, mostly in transit with lots of road time logged a week for work.
habanablue Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 In the winter months when it is cold, rainy and windy I head straight to 'El Casa Del Fumar' nothing else comes close!
GoatLocker Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I'm a patio smoker when at home. Even to me, my truck stinks after a cigar, so I don't want my house smelling like that...
Phailure Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I enjoy the porch time :-) That is, untill it gets freezing outside. Then I don't enjoy porch time as much... If the weather is nice, I'd rather smoke outside than indoors.
strayvector Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 For me, it is also the balcony. In Tucson, you can basically smoke outdoors year round. During June - August, you do this at night since the day time temps hover between 41-47 celcius, but night time temps are in the low 30s.
Smokin_Safari Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Oh Man, you have to get to Australia then - the patio / deck / veranda is where we live!!
n2advnture Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 » I wear the pants in our household so................ the wife only lets me » smoke outside on the deck after dark when the kids have gone to bed or » down in the shed after I've done all my chores:-D ROFLMAO!!!! :-D (outside here too...although I just picked upa Csonka filter, we will see how it goes over during the winter months)
gehrig24 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Outside deck here too. I like others do not smoke much in the winter since it gets a little cold in MN. In addtion to my woes, they are passing these smoking bans everywhere that limits me on the places I can even go and enjoy a cigar.
cvm4 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 When I build a house I will have a dedicated smoking room. It will have ventalation, wood floors, and leather chairs; that way the smoke cannot soak into much of anything. Oh and I already told the g/f my plans...I told her she gets the laundry room and I get the office! But right now it's the deck for me :-D
harwellplant Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 i have got the same plan for the future house, but nothing allowed in the current one.
GoatLocker Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 » i have got the same plan for the future house LOL, don't we all, along with the walk-in humidor!
wasch_24 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I save all my elegant subtly aged smokes for indoor oppurtunities. I really prefer to smoke inside but that will never happen in this house. Maybe someday we will end up in a house with a sunroom or a finished room I can refinish. Most of the time I am smoking on my way into work in my car and occasionally out back on the deck. I bought one of those patio fireplace things so we'll see how that goes this winter.
strayvector Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 » i have got the same plan for the future house, but nothing allowed in the » current one. I've got the same plan for the wing addition to the house, but will probably still smoke on the patio. Love the view and the fresh air and unfortunately no matter how hard you I try, I can never get good enough venting so that the cigar smoke does not invade other parts of the house. I imagine the entertainment room will only see smoke on poker nights.
Phailure Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 » » How many of you smoke indoors??? » » Not I. Can't stand the lingering odor after it's all done ... and » besides, I like the view from my porch: » » » :-D Lucky... Lots of other apartments, cars, and pavement for me. But hey, anything to sustain the addiction right?
TR Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Outside....in the hot tub or back patio..but then again I live in Arizona and it really does not get cold here......;-)
skid11 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Shrink........... Mate, members of the jury Sorry at my feeble attempt at humour ! I'm really a SOAG at heart Sensitive Old Age Guy Outside and Proud ! Our lovely Queensland weather is great except for the Mossies. Although the cigar smoke keeps them at bay a little bit.
Loki Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I just completed a new deck about a month ago so its still a novelty to sit and smoke there, used to sit out on the lawn. Here in the northeast winters are damn cold so a good friend and I make our weekly pilgrimage to the local pub for pints and cigars. Let's just say cigar smoking frequency slows a bit in the winter. If I am smoking solo I get to hang out in the dog room which has a ceiling fan, a window, a sliding door, and heat so the experience is quite good and the bullies don't seem to mind. I really want to build a green house for the wife and I think it would make a great place to smoke.
smk819 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I smoke in my office in the house. When I have cigar smoking friends visiting, that opens the rest of the house except the bedroom.
jay8354 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Unfortunately, it has to be outside since significiant others does not enjoy the aromas of a good cuban. So it is the great outdoors. Otherwise on a boys' nights out.
Colt45 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 » I wear the pants in our household so............. Skid, too funny! I take it that mossies are mosquitos? Another one for my Aussie word/phrase list.
waldo Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I smoke in the house once in a while, usually in the evening next to an open window. Never when it's closed up and never in my vehicle. At least I get to smoke at work.
