Guest rob Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Remember back in the old days (but as recently as the last decade) that you could smoke inside cigar shops... Do you think that the lingering smoke from inside cigar shops had a negative effect on the cigars being stored there? On the weekend I noticed that some of my boxes (and the cigars inside) have a stale-ish smoke smell from having been stored semi longterm in smoky cigar shops back in the late 90's and early 2000's. It's actually quite prominent and it's difficult to sense the original clean Habanos bouquet we have come to know and love.Even my missus, who isnt a cigar smoker, said she could smell the smoke smell stronger than the usual Cuban Tobacco bouquet. I'd prefer not to smoke these, so tasting them to find out is not really an option... I'm just curious if you think that it may affect their flavour profiles, collectabilty etc...
