Hello everyone my buddy blackfriar recommended me for this site so I thought I would drop in and see what it is all about.

Upon reading a bit, I realized that I jumped the gun in posting my newbie thread. So let me elaborate by editing my thread.

My name is Paul and I am 28 years old. I am married with two kids living in the US.

Upon my worldly travels the only time I have purchased/smoked Cuban cigars would be at airports in London, UAE, etc. I knew that they were overpriced but thought so many people rave over Cubans I should give them a go.

I traditionally like dark wrapper, stong bodied smokes as I favor drinking whiskey instead of wine with my cigars. My favorite smoke in the past have been Partagas Limited Reserves. Mainly because that was the first cigar I purchased in college, the flavor was appealing, and it seemed to suit my miserly college budget.

After smoking a few Cubans I believed that many Dominicans and Nicagurans were just as good if not better (I know shame on me).

A friend of mine, comes over most weekends as we smoke cigars, smoke meat, drink a bit and generally try to kick back. He began showing up with Cubans on a regular basis and has caused me to repent my ways and see the light (in the form of a wonderful glowing cherry on my cigar).

I thought I would join here to read an learn more about a hobby I have enjoyed for years.

I first began smoking in my college days in Texas. I found it to be a wonderful and relaxing way to spend a warm summer night.

I normally smoke one cigar per evening with a nice glass of whiskey after the kids are in bed. I find it best to sit barefoot in the grass, with the dog at the base of my chair in the total darkness of the night. This is the "me time" I have come to make as my own tradition.

This concludes my long winded introduction and I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.
