Cohiba Coronas Especial PLM/FEB06

» I will pull out a Coronas Especial tomorrow. One of my favorites.

Better late than never ! This was a great cigar (have I ever said one was crap yet ? ) Light rich wrapper with that pig tail !

Construction : a bit firm with a slight bend to it. Weight seemed good. Hoped it would draw and burn well being this firm. Fill looked excellent

Smell and draw cold: Smell was of Baby's Breath ! Draw was perfect

1/3 Initial strong dark sweet tea and herbal flavors...what a great start. I love the blend in the Classic range of Cohiba. A bit light on the smoke volume but not bad. Excellent full mouth feel with no aftertaste. thru 1/3 we wound our way into lots of complexity...of note was some raisin and also spiced apple of all things. New one on me.No real pepper thru nose but plenty of sweet spiciness

2/3 The smell of this cigar was intoxicating. Growing in strength and body to a solid upper mid level. Weak coffee with cream and a touch of almond and slight citrus twang coming thru the 2/3. Is it me again or my mood making this so entertaining.

3/3 Lots of spiceiness thru the nose.Great body and flavors all swirling around along with the smell. This cigar worked its way back around to a tea and spice with some molasses . I nubbed it.

Excellent review and pics....somehow with the squirrel as your nemesis....it reminds me very much of Caddyshack

There is a tremendous amountd of complexity in that cigar for a FEb 06. Imagine what it will be like come 2011/2012?

They wont last the year Rob !! Thats the problem Once you get into a box and it moves toward stellar..there are no more to be had !! I think 06 will be looked back upon as a truly great year for Habanos
