El Presidente
Hoyo De Monterrey Le Hoyo Du Roi Corona. May 03 Had an hour to kill last evening before I collected my oldest son Ben (11) from Karate. I was in the mood to try something that I don't normally go for and so I came across this Corona. The wrapper on it was one of the ugliest I have ever seen being greenish brown and wrinkled like an sunloving grandma. Jumped in the LandRover and fired it up while I drove down via Newstead and the wharves looking for spots to throw a line in this weekend. What hit me in the face immediately was the class of this cigar. Mild medium, creamy + faint taste of molasses. It was typical Le Hoyo but also reminded me so much of the San Cristobal line. The burn was excellent considering I was driving the truck windows down and the corona held it's flavour and poise right to the end. I love it when a cigar surprises you. wasch_24
Nice Rob. I like the Le Hoyo line better than the regular HdM line.
joerose
A wonderful and way overlooked corona, which is good for us who like this cigar. Not a cigar that most are aware of, but with some age on them they are awesome. Nely
True, they are ugly, but what they lack in looks makes up in flavor. One of my favorite cubanos.
El Presidente
"What style of karate does your son do by the way?" Ben does Shotokan Karate. Goes for his Brown belt shortly. I have only a few years left of pinning him. I am getting peeved of him ambushing me around the house when I come home at night ala Kato from the Inspector Clueso Pink Panther Series. It now hurts when he connects

Smokin_Safari
Prez, How do you manage to keep an even burn whilst driving? I find that only sitting down in a near vacuum works.

I think you'd have a hard time getting any kind of burn at all in a near vacuum. It wouldn't be the worst of your worries either :-P
