CIGARHead Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Vegas Robaina Maestros Enjoyed w/ Rhum Barbancourt Reserve Speciale 8 y/o from Haiti Beautiful cigar. Dark leather with some oils. Perfect construction. Prelight draw is perfect with a sweet tobacco taste. 1st third: This cigar opens up strong. Hints of allspice and cocoa. Wow, I hope this cigar stays like this throughout the duration. 2 inches in and its all Dark coffee and Aunt Jemima syrup…like breakfast! 2nd third: More syrup. Full bodied and loving it. This is like smoking a pancake and a strong espresso. Sweet paprika and pepper through the nose. The Maestro is gaining in strength, yet not losing any complexity. This cigar is everything I love in a cigar. If this is any indication of how good this will be in 5 or 6 yrs, we have a classic. Last third: It’s staring to lose its way. The pancakes are finished and whats left is some coffe that was on the burner an hour too long. This is still a young cigar, but the first 2 thirds assure me of a classic cigar when matured. I rate this beautiful cigar 90/100.
aavkk Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Awesome review Cigarhead! I have given up already on the thought of competing for the monarcas. You guys are in another league. Now how do I get my hands on some of those Maestros????

greenpimp Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Very nice. I am intrigued by this cigar. How would you compare its profile to say, a young Famoso?
