My only motivation here is curiosity, I don't want to cause a flare-up... here goes... I noticed a well known Cee-gar merchant in Great Britain is offering PL Robustos, the Asia-Pacific release on their website. ( Not the Magnificos, they list them as well) How can this be, and can we expect to be able to find regionals other than Asia Pacific here soon?

I think he either buys them from other vendors in the respective regions or he gets them through someone in Cuba. I have heard that you can purchase over-runs and the such straight from the island. Either way, he is ungodly expensive!!

Check out Don Candido's thread on the PL Robustos.

who could you possibly be referring to:-) ....not to mention other REs as well...I've noticed cigar merchants selling either singles or boxes from other countries/regions and I would be interested in how this is done...overruns etc

I am happy to find out how it has occured while in Havana. Will add it to my list. However, nothing technically wrong if he purchased from a merchant and is re-selling them.

He is known for getting just about everything, so I suspect he trades off stock with other vendors. Kinda of scratch MO back, I'll scratch yours ;-)

I should have said I don't doubt it's being done legally or whatever, I just wondered how. These REs are supposed to be limited, I didn't really expect there to be enough to go around... I wish there was a central clearing house where one could find all the worlds' releases with one click of the mouse;-)

I guess that would go against the whole regional concept. Of course, they could just call the ELs instead. :-)

I suspect this is exactly what's happening Rob. It happens a lot at the more well known cigar shops in England and Ireland. Last time I was in Ireland, my local B&M had both the British PL Magnificos and Spanish VR Maestros, but only two boxes of each. The magnificos were more expensive than they are in England, whereas normally they'd be about 10% cheaper.

Holy Crap! More expensive than England? Remind me to pack cigars if I ever get to the mother country. :-(
