I don't know if anyone else is in a similar situation as me, but I've been smoking for between a year and 2 years now. The main problem is I don't actually have any friends that do as well. Other than some casual acquaintances at my frequented shop in the city I am usually stuck on my stoop smoking alone.

Seeing as how there seem to be so many of us in the NY/NJ area, can anyone recommend any good places to hang out? It would be nice to find more people to actually share my love of cigars with, nothing against all you posters out there, but if I were to try and sit and enjoy a cigar while typing on the computer to you guys my girlfriend would quickly relocate all of my belongings to the front yard.

Merchants on 62nd and 1st in Manhattan and Havana Dreams in Queens are both nice places where I've met up with members of this and other boards.

The upstairs smoking area at the old Nat Sherman was a wonderful place to sit and smoke. I don't know any details about the new (very nearby) location.

Others more familiar with the area will have additional ideas, I'm sure.

edited to get rid of extra words.

The new nat sherman location promises to be very nice. I was in last week and asked about the lounge and they mentioned it should be done in a few weeks. From what I am told it will likely involve a "cutting fee" of $10. :-(

well it sounds like I have no option but to go check this place out! I'll make sure to keep my eye out for anyone who looks like they belong here and say hello!

The Montecristo Lounge at JR Cigars in Whipanny , NJ is a good place

to hang out. They Have a bar and a large sitting room. They have some pub grub too.

I also stop in Don Franciscos in East Brunswick.

They have 2 full time rollers crafting all types, sizes and blends of

tobacco sourced from their own farm in the Dominican Republic.

Its BYOB and they have a poker table.

Its fun watching the guys roll cigars.
