anacostiakat Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 FOE JUL03 I was able to score two boxes of these I really must get a new camera. :-( Anyway, this being my first one of these out of one of the boxes I thought I would expound on my smoking experience. Rather bumpy and not the most beautiful looking was the one I selected. Fired it up and after letting it settle down a bit I noticed straight leather and some medium spice in the nose. As the first third progressed the leather was mixed with something else like clover I would say. What a refined smoke this is. Like a classy mature woman. Maybe not too mature. :-D The nose now at the half way mark shows the clover and leather only. Not a heavy mouthfeel. The leather providing some chewiness but again beautifully refined. Wonderful draw and copious amounts of smoke provided. Just enough resistence on the draw to allow for effortless sipping. A dark gray/black ash. Fighting my immediate gratification urge to fast smoke this baby! The clover becomes more pronounced. Leading into some honey tones. Complementing the John Barleycorn I am sipping. What a great Traffic album. :-P Truely John Barleycorn must die. . . The flavor, while not changing, is intensifying as I approach the last third. But it is a slow approach. I have already been smoking this baby for over an hour. No spice now but more clover. She assaults the nost with it. It is seductive, alluring. Clover starts to dissapate with more leather and tobac in the nose. But exceedingly smooth. Last two inches starts beautifully! Clover honey in abundance! Again complementing the corn and molasses of the bourbon. Ooofgh! The clover and leather with a hint of chocolate flare up like the last thows of an orgasmitron. Contento...
Jimmy2 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I smoked one i think an 02 at a gathering with some friends and it was a very very good cigar. enjoy
bassman Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 While I'm a huge faN OF MANY OF THE slr VITOLAS, THE LONSDALES ARE just too mild for me, especially having the pre 95 blend MANY TIMES. Damn cap lock!!! Gotta stop posting while drinking (Victory Horizontal Ale- well named!)
El Presidente Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 That is one hell of a review These are such hit and miss cigars. At their best they are just as you describe
