El Presidente
Great cigar....great rum....great review Is there a better pairing that Caney and Cigars? I have always loved the look to the shaggy finish Doc. Not only is it visually attractive and different, it produces an intense opening aroma. cadillacdoc
I have always loved the look to the shaggy finish Doc. Not only is it visually attractive and different, it produces an intense opening aroma. Anytime I have customs made I usually do something different like a different length, shaggy finish or a pigtail cap. Just something odd to let you know it is a non-production stick. I also like Zaya.

cadillacdoc
This cigar was commisioned in October 2002 from Sr. Toboada at la Corona. I requested a "shaggy" wrapper end and a longer cigar with a little "extra" ligero in the blend. The cigar is a 50 band width and measures 7 3/4 inches. The cigar has a beautiful mildly oily colorado wrapper and a tremendous honeyed barnyard pre-light aroma. The tasting was accompanied by Caney Oro Ligero neat. A view of the "shaggy" A view of the rounded cap. A review from the Edmundo Dante Conde 109 thread earlier this week is the "nudging" that encouraged this review. On lighting, the extra ligero was apparent and actually did not taper for the entire smoke. Not in an "in your face" way but just more than you expect from a 50 gauge stick. The initial flavors are intense tobacco and dark chocolate that was sweetened by the Caney. The cigar burned well and didn't require any touch-ups to correct burn problems. The middle third continued with the honeyed tobacco flavor and the development of leathery undertones. The final third the cigar developed an awesome creamy cubano "twang" that you just can't get enough of while still retaining the leathery dark chocolate flavors. A real finger burner. An EXCELLENT cigar!
