last night at a x-mas party i took a couple different sticks, one being a cohiba robusto ROA SEP 06. about 5 mins. into it i was raving to my wife that " this is the best cigar i ever smoked!" over and over, and finally she took it from me, and she started puffing on it and she agreed. soooooo smooth. i almost had to break her had to get it back.:-D i don't know if i want to try anything else, but if there is something better than the cohiba robusto i'd like to know.

Damn! I'm lucky my wife doesnt like cigars enough to start smoking them, then, I guess! Also glad my boys are still under 4 years old, it will be a while before they will start stealing cigars from my humble stash. About the time hen they're ready to smoke! Thanks for reminding me that I need to buy more cigars. :-|

I like Esplendidos, Lanceros and Coronas Extra better than the robustos, although that depends on age.

Those late 06 Cohiba Robusto's were something special ;-)

I smoked a couple from a box from may '06 that have been very good as well. My friend "The Dane" is crazy about these :-D

Hey mailman, sorry to get in so late on this post, been out of town. I just had to check my humi after reading your post, cuz I also had an out of body (well sorta) experience w/a CoRo a while back. I had purchased a 3/pk from Rob, its DIC 06 and they're fantastic. I ended up buying a box dated AGO 06, I have yet to try one from the box, but I'm hoping for a similar experience.

Had a very similar experience last weekend. Had a CoRo that I purchased from Rob back in mid 2005 that had been resting quietly in the humidor ever since. I had never had one before and decided it had rested long enough. I went into it without any expectations and just sat back and let it do its thing. I was also struck with how incredibly smooth it was. Like you my wife asked for a couple of pulls and and I had to pry it away from her several times.

Appearance & Construction:

Rich tan colored wrapper with minimal veins. Slightly spongy but

not enough to feel underfilled. Classic looking Cohiba.

Smoking Characteristics:

Excellent draw producing loads of thick white smoke. Ash is a bit

flaky but not too bad. The burn only required a few minor touch

ups.

Flavor & Aroma:

Pre-light aroma of wheat and caramel. Incredibly smooth all the

way to the end. Started out with a core of wheat, grass and

nuts. Around the second 1/3 coffee beans appeared. During the

second 1/2 the dominant flavors were molasses, raisins, and

cinnamon.
