There are a number of NC that immediately come to mind for me as pairing nicely with cold weather. The Fuente Anejos and Hemingway Maduros for instance. For whatever reason these cigars always taste great when I smoke them on a cold day but when I have one in the dog days of summer they seem less magical. I had a PSP2 last year on Christmas day and the flavors seemed very suited for the colder weather but I can't think of any other Habanos that come to mind. What say you? Any cold weather favorites or am I thinking too hard? :-D

Personally I don't care to smoke in very cold weather. Aside from the temps taking away from the

overall enjoyment, I find it difficult to sense the flavors of the cigar.

I don't know if it's a matter of the cold taking away my ability to smell or taste, or if drawing cold,

dry air through a cigar changes it's character.

We've had similar discussions in the past - not so much the "pairing" of cigars with cold - but cold

smoking in general. I can recall Mel saying that he has enjoyed some cold weather smokes.

I agree with you Colt. It may be because I spent the first 21 years of my life in Florida that I cant really enjoy a cigar in sub 50 degree temps. Living in NYC makes it tough in the winter for me. I havent had a smoke in almost 3 weeks and I am dying to enjoy a few dozen in Miami next week.

Yes Colt it happened again with the cold and the cigar. I was out in West Tenn. discussing the deer hunting with a guy in the motel and that RASS was better than ever. I can not explain why a few of the cigars smoked in cold weather taste so good. I would have guessed that it would be the opposite and the flavors would be muted or diminished. No science offered here just experience.

We don't get a lot of cold weather here but when I travel into cold climates and smoking outdoors I always appear to reach for full bodied half corona's. Cohiba Siglo I and Bolivar Corona Junior are always a staple along with my Partagas Serie De Connoisseur No 3.

not much point in asking us queenslanders. it is a balmy and cloudless 28 degrees today (celsius).

i must say i prefer smoking in winter. when the temperature hits a chilly 20 to 22 degrees, we rug up and pull out a DC.

I think the Padron 1926 Maduro #9 is an excellent cold weather stick. Coupled with a Starbuck's coffee, it's a nice combo

for me most robustos seem to come forward with a good punch to the forehead in cold weather.

I enjoy the cold weather smoke as long as I can run back in and warm up after a half hour on the porch, but below 20 it is a pain

It was 7 degree out last night and I smoked an 07 PLPC. The cigar was great, but I ended up tossing it because I got to cold. The cold didn't seem affect the taste at all. It was one of the better PLPC's that I have had.
