Ken Gargett Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 my understanding re the monte 4 reserva's... this is from something i wrote for a singaporean publication and based on the info provided just before that while in havana. "In tribute to the Montecristo IV, reputedly one billion have been sold since 1935, there will be 5,000 cases of Reserva de Montecristo No. 4. Each numbered, black-lacquered case will contain 20 double-banded cigars. The wrapper, filler and binder for each has been aged for three years. This mirrors the Partagas Reserva Serie D4, released in 2005. Again, 5,000 numbered, black-lacquered cases, with leaves aged three years, though in that case, all the tobacco came from the 2000 harvest." i know we can conflicting reports but that was my understanding. that said, a billion monte iv's is a truckload of cigars. if my maths (for our beloved american cousins, that is what you have shortened to math) is correct, that is around 14 million monte iv's a year, every year, since inception. anyone any better figures?

If I divide one billion by 70, it's closer to 13 million, but that's pretty close. It does sound a littlle exaggerated, dont you think? 13 million of these every year?
Trevor2118 Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 » Also had my question answered on the sale of singles of the Magnificos. » They are actually selling the singles from the numbered 25's boxes. So » yes, they will run out and fairly quickly too, I guess. These are being » sold at £20 a stick singly. These are also being sold in Germany for 8.50 Euro a stick.....one hell of a difference. Sorry , wrong This is for the 2006 German Lonsdales..

No 1 Cuban cigar sold in the world by a country mile representing 8% of total production which would include tubos, 5 packs etc.
Cam Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I like them.. alot.. but not for that price, that's the price per stik (almost) or a montecristo A here..
Colt45 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 » I think it's all from the 2002 harvest. » Interesting. The box does say harvest 2002. The website says three year aged tobacco. So, is it five year aged tobacco, or three year aged tobacco, rolled and held for two years, or........... And to add to my confusion..... Here's a pic I borrowed from another thread posted By Justinphilly: And from the same thread, posted by Ken Gargett (matches photo on HSA website):
