Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd thank Jimmy2 for introducing me to this forum, Although I'm a native New Yorker for my whole life, I make my home in Atlanta now.

The age of retirement has come upon me so I will devote much time to fine cigars, developing my gambling skills, and consuming the new Crown Royal cask 16 Canadian whiskey.

I'm sorry that I wont be able to attend the NYC event, but I wish you all well. Jimmy and the entire group of fellas at Havana Dreams are all true gentlemen.

Hello Sonny and pleased to meet another retiree (is there such a word?)

Although I only managed semi-retirement. If it wasn't for my part-time job, I wouldn't be able to feed my new found habit of smoking cigars. I really do have a lot of catching up to do after a lifetime of cigarette smoking. The ban on smoking in all public places, thrust upon us by the new Nanny State here in England, pressed me into changing my lifetime habit for the better.

I must have it really bad as I am spending 4 days in NY, my first visit, to meet up with lots of the guys at Havana Dreams.

I've given up gambling or should I say it has given me up. I went straight from school in to the betting industry at 15 and ended up as a croupier at the London Playboy Casino before they decided to close down their operations in the UK in the 80's. Unfortunately I didn't take the hint that there were no poor bookmakers or casino owners and over the years have donated well to their coffers.

After too slow horses, too many croups hitting 21 and two ex-wives, at last I am able to indulge in a hobby/habit/ addiction, whatever, without feeling guilt or hopelessly chasing losses. With my State Pension covering my essential bills, My salary allows me to live a reasonably comfortable life and buy the odd box or two from C-C. Only two years away from my 3 score and 10, I feel no need to save and am only too happy to spend any surplus cash on indulgence.

Currently enjoying a LE Hermosos 2 and a glass of 20 year old Tawny Port, sheltered inside from the cold, gloomy London and no-one to nag me for dropping ash on the keyboard, retirement ain't all bad.

Welcome Sonny!...How is the Cask No. 16? Worth the dough? Im very interested in it and am pissed I missed out on the free Cask No. 16 bottle stand that was offered through Crown Royal.

I am envious of the retired and semi-retired. At a minimum I am six years out but can not wait. :-(

The Cask 16 is a much smoother and less smokier rye than the XR. I love both, but in my opinion the Cask 16 pairs much better with the Padron 80th Anniversary maduro stick or the Cohiba Maduro.

The XR would go well with a Monte #2 for sure.

Yeah..........its worth the C-note. The XR goes for around a buck-fifty in Atlanta.
