So what's the real story on this?

How does Altadis benefit from their relationship?

Strictky an investment on their part, or are they getting the cream of the cigar crop (so to speak)?

Or is the product pretty much distributed evenly around the world market regardless of their investment relationship?

Serious question, I'm not just boosting my post count here, I'd really like to know the answer. :-D

I'm asking partly because the few boxes that I've had from Spain recently were fantastic. (Before I discovered this place):-P

No actually this is a good question.... that is why I did not think of it....:-D

Who get's the best stock? Those distributors that pay cash :-)

Altadis is simply positioning itself looking 10 + years ahead. Their intention is the control of the premium cigar market and through that....the removal of Swedish Match from the Premium cigar industry.

To Cuba they bring cash, systems and marketing know how. On the island they are tolerated rather than adored.

The relationship ....overall, has been good to date.
