GoSteelers Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Not a single mention of the World Series here? Boston vs Colorado? Is this a collective ho-hum who cares? I for one cannot believe there is no Sunday Night Football because of this game. Who Cares!!!???
El Presidente Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I find Baseball makes Cricket look interesting ;-)

connoiseur29 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Anyone who beats the SOX is my favorite team. As a loyal NY Mets fan, I don't really care about the curse of the Bambino. Bill Buckner has cursed the SOX for eternity. Rockies in 7.
Thomas Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 » » Who Cares!!!??? everyone but you it seems:-P What a great time to be a New England sports fan,,,life is good,,, rockies, well they are untested and I would be surprised if it goes more than five, if that GO SOX!

sptcigars Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 definitely a sox fan. I never really watched baseball growning up. a game here or there but we werent a baseball family. My first experience with the sox was in 04 when they were in the playoffs with the yanks. that was the year the broke the curse. Underdogs against the stankees but as I watched they played great and I began to rout for them. Been a sox fan since.
bobsled Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Go Sawx! Game two was a real cliffhanger! :-)
ThreeD Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 » Go Sawx! Game two was a real cliffhanger! :-) You can say that again. I'm glad they don't play tonight, I've got to get some sleep!

JMH Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 If I can ask a question - why is it called the world series?
GP012 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 » If I can ask a question - why is it called the world series? We're pompous. I don't know how well the Canadian teams would take it if it was called the American Series. Stupid name and stupid trophy.
Colt45 Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 » If I can ask a question - why is it called the world series? I understand your question, but baseball was being played here in the U.S. in the 1800s. I guess it could be changed to the Major League Baseball Series, but then I guess people might question why it is called Major League Baseball......
Colt45 Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 » And for the record...you really dated yourself !! The Standells ! » And they're from California! But the Dropkick Murphys play it as well :-)
smokum Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 ..."thats where you'll find me..along with lovers,****ers and thieves" ....lolol,,,well thats what we THOUGHT it said anyway !
Ben Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 » I don't know how well the Canadian teams would take it if it was called » the American Series. Don't you mean team, the Expos are history. I knew this would be a Boston rout so I've not watched. I couldn't give a flying proverbial about the Rockies.
Ben Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 On the subject of the name World Series I actually think it's quite fitting as the greatest players in the World take part. The Major League is the pinnacle of Baseball and because of this the player pool these days is by no means an All-American affair. One of the most talented guys currently playing is a little Jap called Ichiro Suzuki whom is one of the best hitters I've ever seen. That All-Star inside the park home-run had me shaking my head in amazement.
toasterhead Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 » can you say: » » Now that the mourning is over, I think this says it all.... http://www.theonion.com/content/news_brief...ockies_what_the :crying: Dave
Colt45 Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Dave, did you notice how there was no gloating on this board? But, since you brought it back up................ The Sox have no fear, and cannot be intimidated. I love that dirty water..........
Finless Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I was at game 4. Big Boston fan here. It was quite an experience.
Miami101 Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Forget about all that....It is all about the MLS!
Colt45 Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 » Forget about all that....It is all about the MLS! Kickball?! Well, the New England Revolution did win their playoff game last night. :-)
toasterhead Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Next week at this time we will know the answer! Rockies in 5!! Dave »
