waldo Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Looks good (in a frat house kind of way):-P
habanohal Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 » Looks good (in a frat house kind of way):-P SO how are you going to store the cigars? Is there a HUGE walk in?
Freefallguy Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 How cool is that! I love vintage/heritage houses… I’m sure you’ll have it properly appointed and well stocked! Can’t help but think the upper porch will make for a lovely smoking area… a refuge from the tobacco nazi’s and the perfect place from which to flick ashes upon their pointy heads!! All the best mate!
El Presidente Posted September 19, 2005 Author Posted September 19, 2005 We will be having a huge walk-inhumidor and members locker area. The backis where the potential is. The house being surrounded on three sides by office blocks.....no neighbours or complaints. After the forst 12months we will see if wewant to purchase and if we do we will develop the back ala El Ajibe in Havana (with undercover car parking).
benzig Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 :-D Fantastic El Pres! Now all I need is a story to put to better half off the trail...
harwellplant Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 looks great. congratulations on the new environs.
swl Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 The outside appearance of the house showas a lot of potential. :-) Have fun!
dysfunctional Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Would love to go there but its more than a cab ride for me.... Anyone special for the rolling ?? Can overseas dudes place orders ??:-D
GoatLocker Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Nice place, love the style and character. Now I just have to fly out there. Guess the wife wouldn't be too pleased if I took her on an Australian vacation, then sat around your shop smoking and drinking all day...
habanolover Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Very nice Rob!! looks like a place full of potential to me. I can just see myself on that upper deck with stiff mojito and a smoke...Too bad I'm so far away:-( You know the next best thing to being there is smoking one of the custom rolls from the opening party while checking out all the pics from the party here on the forum;-) :-D
argon345 Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Rob, if i win the lottery i'm there...otherwise some day I hope to have the chance to come and visit!!!
froghair Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 man i would love to attend the opening party but im having the week before off and have the end of season rugby trip away the following weekend. i have to get up to one of your do's
Jimmy2 Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Prezzz what about the custom rolled puppies are we going to get some ???
El Presidente Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 Settle Pettle. Custom rolled cigars will form part of our 2006 campaign however we need to get the essentials right. More information before too long.' I was hoping Hamlet would be our roller for the opening as he is a good mate and loves the land of OZ. Looking less likely that it will be hamlet. I will have the roller confirmed by tomorrow. The deal we have with the rollers is that they roll as many cigars as they can....before the party....150-200 if possible. We sell them for $20 on the night and the roller keeps every cent. On the party night, the roller rolls 5 presentation cigars and then stops and party's with the rest of us. We also have the roller sign some humidors whhich are auctioned and the roller keeps every cent. This is slightly different to many other countries in our region where the rollers are given an allowance of $50 USD per day and all money from his rolling efforts are kept by the store he is rolling for. It would be an understatement to say the rollers love coming here
Andrew Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 wow, great place. being a local boy i cant wait to get there. i speak on behalf of maverick and myself, but if you need a hand with things, we are willing to help however we can. and we will both be at the opening if you will have us!:-D
Freefallguy Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 » It would be an understatement to say the rollers love coming here » Too cool El P! It’s thoughtful incentives like this that make it all too easy to plunk down hard earned dinero for the premium smokes your provide. With your business savvy, it can only be too soon ‘til we’ll have direct Czar deposit of our wages!!
cvm4 Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 mmmmm Hamlet's....Always wondered what one of those taste like. I hope you get him mate! And $20 is great compared to $30 Taboadas :-(
