habanohal Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 If you go back and see that I was one against the high price and marketing ploy of the Maduro 5. I bought the sampler a while ago just to check these cigars out. I just smoked the big size ( Genios I think) and it was just about better than geeting head from Jessica Alba :-D From the prelight draw to the richness of flavorr. This has to be my #1 cigar smopked in the past few years. I am saying now worth the $550 or so a box. If they are this good now, how will they be in years to come. Now I need to come up with some cash and drop good ole Lisa an order for a box or 2. I have now smoked all 3 sizes and am in a bit of querry. Usually the smaller they are when younger , the better they are. But it is the reverse for mew on these 3. If you have the cash, I would suggest on picking up a box or 4 ;-)
CIGARHead Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Hal Im with you. The Genios, to me, is by far the best of the new Cohiba Maduro 5. One example on how much the wrapper does in terms of flavour and richness - I was smoking a Genios last night and it was on the loose side..very light in hand. So I punched a small hole instead if clipping the cap. The draw was loose but acceptable. The looseness of the bunch made it so the wrapper could not keep up with the rest..which made the cigar muted and bland. But fire that wrapper back up and it was a flavour bomb once again. I love em!
gyosa Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 trust me ..... NOTHING is better than getting head from Jessica Alba ...... -bk
Sandman Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I totally agree. This why I just bought a box and will probably buy another very soon. They are phenomenal and between these and the new BGM I am in heaven.
anacostiakat Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I grabbed a box and feel justified based on what I have smoked. But I must say, I can not agree with your review! They can not possibly be quite that good.
nugget Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Please don't refer smoking cigar's to getting head from Jessica Alba, all the new Maduro 5's are great and although very enjoyable, please let me know of one cigar that compares to your analogy, I will clean Rob out of stock.

He is a music composer and meets everyone. Last week he had a 3 hour lunch with Jessica Beil alone. One day I will be there laughing like a little school girl when I get to hang with the hotties of Hollywood
xibbumbero Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I did not like the one I had. I found it very un-Habanos in profile. Mebbe, they'll get better w/age or mebbe not. X:lookaround:

X:lookaround: I think anyone who is looking for a Traditional Habano experience in these is going to be disappointed. They were blended to be unique and nothing like anything ever done before in Cuba. The Genios (at least to me) has been the pick of the three new sizes. It will be interesting to see how the age and evolve.
tigger Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Liked the Genios. Didn't much care for the Secretos.
